Türkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 5,121.57 points, falling 1.65% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 5,224.40 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 85.75 points compared to Tuesday’s close.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 5,065.31, while its daily high was 5,239.45.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.2 trillion Turkish liras ($219.7 billion) by market close on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of 74 billion liras ($3.9 billion).
During the day, 14 stocks on the index rose and 86 fell compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,930.65, while Brent crude oil sold at around $73.70 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).
