Turkish stock exchange opens Friday in green

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 5,509.76 points, up by 1.50%, or 81.50 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 5,428.26 points, surging 4.65%, with a daily trading volume of 96 billion liras ($4.07 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 25.0664 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 25.3633, and a British pound traded for 31.9007 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $73.58 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,923.75.
