The US is planning to announce action this week against the Wagner paramilitary group, according to a State Department spokesman on Tuesday.
Matthew Miller said the action is “not in relation to events that happened this weekend, but for their prior activities” in Africa.
When pressed by reporters, Miller did not detail the action that will be taken but said it would be announced later this week.
“We continue to look closely at the actions they take that are against the interests of the countries where they operate. And we will continue to take actions to hold them accountable,” he said.
