European stocks plummet to end week on lower note

European stock markets plummeted Friday to finish the week on a lower note.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 6.22 points, or 1.35%, to finish at 453.76.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was the worst performer of the day, diving 131 points, or 1.67%, to end the session at 7,748.

Germany’s DAX 30 fell 205 points, or 1.31%, to close at 15,427. France’s CAC 40, meanwhile, lost 95 points, or 1.3%, to finish the week at 7,220.

Italy’s FTSE MIB plummeted 428 points, or 1.55%, to 27,281. Spain’s IBEX 35 declined 138 points, or 1.47%, to 9,285.
