Turkish stocks up at Friday’s open

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 4,442.24 points, up by 0.32%, or 14.26 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 4,427.99 points, increasing slightly by 0.07%, with a daily trading volume of 35.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.9860 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT) and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.4340, while a British pound traded for 24.6460 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.48 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,950.55.
