European news agencies hold meeting in Brussels

Representatives of European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) members on Friday held its spring conference in Brussels, with a focus on copyright for news agencies in the age of artificial intelligence.

The conference, titled Copyright for News Agencies in the Age of AI, was hosted by Belgium’s Belga news agency.

Anadolu, which is a founding member of the 33-member EANA, was represented by its Strategic Communications and Foreign Relations Manager Hazal Duran and Strategic Communications and Foreign Relations Senior Specialist Eren Erciyas.

Speaking at the conference, EANA President Clemens Pig highlighted the importance of the alliance at a time when the world is going through a turbulent period.

Belga CEO Patrick Lacroix said copyright and AI are things the news agencies need to work on.

AFP CEO Fabrice Fries and European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova also spoke at the forum.
