Liverpool ends Arsenal’s 7-game winning streak, Real Madrid suffer 5th La Liga loss

A 2-2 draw against Liverpool ended Arsenal’s seven-game winning streak in the Premier League over the weekend, while Real Madrid suffered their fifth La Liga defeat of the season to Villarreal.

Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino scored a late header to help the Reds take the 2-2 draw with the Gunners at Anfield Road.

Collecting 73 points, Arsenal are now six points clear at the top of the standings, having played a game more than second-placed Manchester City.

Manchester City boosted their points to 67 after tasting a 4-1 win over Southampton.

Third-place Newcastle United and fourth-place Manchester United have 56 points each on matchday 30.

Real Madrid suffered a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Villarreal, while Atletico Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0 on the road.

Real Sociedad, meanwhile, defeated Getafe 2-0 at home.

The 28th week will end with a Barcelona vs. Girona match on Monday.

Barcelona are top of the league with 71 points, followed by Real Madrid with 59, Atletico Madrid with 57, and Real Sociedad with 51.

Napoli defeated Lecce with a 2-1 score at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero to boost their points to 74 in week 29.

Lazio upset Juventus 2-1, while Roma beat Torino with a narrow win.

AC Milan had a goalless draw with Empoli and Inter Milan drew with Salernitana 1-1.

Lazio are in the second position in the league with 58 points and their archrivals Roma have 53 points, sitting in third.

Juventus have 44 points and are in seventh place.

Defending champions Bayern Munich beat Freiburg 1-0 score to raise their points to 58 on matchday 27.

Borussia Dortmund beat Union Berlin 2-1, while Leipzig tasted a narrow win over Hertha Berlin.

Dortmund are second with 56 points, while Union Berlin are third with 51 and Leipzig fourth with 48.

After losing their last two matches, Paris Saint-Germain sealed a 2-0 win over Nice in the 30th week at Allianz Riviera.

Second-place Lens won their fourth Ligue 1 match in a row after defeating 10-man Strasbourg 2-1 at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Lorient were held to a goalless draw with Olympique Marseille as Nantes drew 2-2 with Monaco.

Paris Saint-Germain are top of the table with 69 points, followed by Lens with 63, Olympique Marseille with 61, and Monaco with 58.
