Saudi Arabia on Saturday celebrated its Flag Day, for the first time in the oil-rich kingdom.
March 11 has been designated by a royal decree as Flag Day to honor the Saudi flag.
The Saudi flag bylaw stipulates that the flag should be rectangular in shape, green in color, and with the creed “There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah” in the middle.
Marking the Flag Day, the Culture Ministry organized cultural and artistic activities, including a theatrical show, for three days to mark the day.
Saudi Minister of Education Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan also raided the Saudi flag atop the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh, with the participation of a male and female scout troupe.
