Fenerbahce to take on Sevilla in UEFA Europa League Round of 16

Fenerbahce will take on Spanish club Sevilla in a UEFA Europa League Round of 16 game on Thursday.

The first-leg match will be played at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Fenerbahce finished as the leaders of the UEFA Europa League Group B – which included Rennes, Dynamo Kyiv and AEK – with 14 points.

Sevilla continued its journey in the UEFA Europa League after being eliminated from the Champions League Group G, which includes Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and FC Copenhagen.

While Sevilla are the most successful team in the Europa League, formerly named the UEFA Cup, with 6 trophies, Galatasaray are the only Turkish team in history to win this tournament in 2000.

It the 2008 UEFA Champions League, Fenerbahce eliminated Sevilla on penalties to march to the quarterfinals.

The Istanbul club has 94 wins, 55 draws and 103 losses in 252 matches in European cups.
